Eddie Turner – Miracles & Demons
Born in Cuba and raised in Chicago Eddie Turner’s influences stem from Afro-Cuban to Blues, Rock and R & B. Eddie’s third album for Northern Blues is not straight-ahead blues he melds rock and jazz into the mix. Through the years Eddie has received rave reviews for his psychedelic guitar playing and he helped to create the sound of the Otis Taylor Band in the 1990’s and released his first album Rise in 2005 to universal critical acclaim that also led to a Blues Music Award nomination for Best New Artist Debut amongst many other nominations and awards. Miracles & Demons oozes with Funk (Say), wailing guitar (Blues Fall Down Like Rain), fun lyrics (Monkey See, Monkey Do) and interestingly enough two very different versions of the title track. If you’re not a fan of his yet give this album a listen and chances are you’ll probably become one! (www.northernblues.com, www.eddiedevilboy.com/) – E.B. Bluesday CKUW 95.9FM
